去年和洋基走入薪資仲裁，最後還扯破臉的牛棚投手巴坦希斯（Dellin Betances），這次不再重蹈覆轍，雙方以510萬美元（約新台幣1億5000萬元）談定今年價碼，避免再度回到仲裁庭。

巴坦希斯去年拒絕洋基提出的300萬美元薪資，開口要求500萬美元，雙方直到聽證會還僵持不下，最後交由法庭判定，最終巴坦希斯不敵洋基。

上次談判過程中，巴坦希斯和洋基球團一度關係緊繃，甚至還拒絕出席春訓。洋基總裁萊文（Randy Levine）認為巴坦希斯以布局投手的身分，分擔幾次救援機會，就要求終結者的價格，「500萬美元是給頂級終結者的價錢，他們是要在第9局投球，而且拿下很多、很多、很多的救援點。」而巴坦希斯經紀人墨瑞（Jim Murray）則回擊遭到霸凌。

今年是巴坦希斯獲得薪資仲裁資格的第2年，意味明年和洋基還有機會「交手」，不過近來他的名字也出現在交易傳聞中，牛棚人才濟濟的洋基，有可能把巴坦希斯當籌碼送走。

洋基已經把全部有薪資仲裁資格的球員搞定，其中當家游擊手葛瑞格里歐斯（Didi Gregorius）獲得825萬美元為最高。目前洋基團體薪資總額是1億7700萬美元，距離豪華稅門檻還有2000萬美元的空間。

洋基「瘦身」成功可望終止連15年繳豪華稅

洋基正式完成「瘦身」計畫，搞定所有符合薪資仲裁資格球員後，總額來到1億7700萬美元，距離豪華稅門檻還有2000萬美元，很有機會中止球隊連續15年繳豪華稅的歷史。

此舉主要著眼於後年基礎稅額可望從50%降至20%，增添迎接2019年在自由市場搶下金鶯強打馬恰多(Manny Machado)、國民主砲哈潑(Bryce Harper)，甚至是可跳出合約的道奇王牌左投柯蕭(Clayton Kershaw)的籌碼。

此外只要新合約採用延遲付款方式，洋基後續還是保有低於豪華稅門檻，又能簽下大投手的彈性，儘管日前遭達比修打槍，但市場上還有艾里耶塔(Jake Arrieta)待售。
