近年來大陸積極推動5G建設，希望在全球搶得頭香，各界也很關注大陸有可能在今年領先全球，成為第一個5G大國。大陸工業和資訊化部總工程師張峰30日在國新辦記者會上表示，大陸研發5G邁入商轉，正進入倒數計時階段，今年將是5G標準確定和商用產品研發的關鍵一年，目前5G的推動已有多家外商參與合作，為5G上路展開最後衝刺。
大陸國務院新聞辦公室30日舉辦記者會，由工業和資訊化部部長苗圩親自上陣，說明2017年工業通信業發展情況。由於美國政府日前才表態要建構自己的5G系統，顯示中美兩國的「5G大戰」正迅速升溫，也讓大陸工信部30日的這場記者會，格外引人關注。
對外資採取開放立場
苗圩表示，展望未來，大陸仍將繼續進一步對外資採取開放立場，這個大門是不會關閉的，希望來自全球各國的外資都能繼續投資大陸，參與大陸的建設。
英國《金融時報》特別針對大陸發展5G的問題，指名苗圩回答，是否大陸今年有機會成為全球第一個5G大國，不過，苗圩則是指名由張峰代答。
張峰指出，現階段5G正處於標準確定的關鍵時期，國際標準組織3GPP將於今年的6月完成5G第一版本國際標準。大陸早在2016年初率先啟動了5G研發和試驗，全力催生第5代行動通信系統的應用和發展。今年1月大陸召開了第三階段規範發表會，向參與的企業頒發了「課本」和「考試大綱」，此舉揭櫫了大陸的研發試驗正式進入了第三階段，將推動5G系統設備基本達到預商用水準，為後續5G規模試驗和手機入網檢測奠定一個好的基礎。
2018標準確定關鍵年
他說，2018年是5G標準確定和商用產品研發的關鍵一年，大陸將根據第三階段5G技術研發試驗，注重「標準、研發與試驗」三項工作同步展開。同時，也鼓勵企業包括國外的合作夥伴，積極地參與5G的研發和試驗，目前除了有陸企外，國際上包括愛立信、上海諾基亞貝爾等等，都參與大陸5G的試驗計畫，在晶片領域也是一樣。未來在中外廠商的共同合作下，可望發揮引導作用，推動5G成熟和商用，並且積極地引導產業界按照研發的規律，快速穩妥的協同推進5G的發展。
